I last posted about this tree in winter, 2021 (https://beginbonsai.net/2021/02/21/olive-olea-europaea-var-sanfernando-2/). It has gone through a pretty drastic trunk chop and other work since then.

Spring growth a year later.
Cut back the longest growth but left a lot on for winter hardiness.
Repotted in spring.

Root-pruned. I’m pleased with the nebari.

Trunk-chopped. I believe this will make a better tree (maybe two!) in the long run.
Lately I’ve been using carpenters glue to seal wounds instead of cut past. I’m not sure how well this will work.
Possibly a new tree from the old top with rooting hormone applied.
