Engelmann oak (Quercus engelmannii) revisited

I bought this oak from the California Botanic Garden in Claremont, California on December 28, 2019. For a history of its development from then until April, 2022, see https://beginbonsai.net/2022/04/23/engelmann-oak-quercus-engelmannii/.

March 13, 2026:
The tree today. I am still developing the trunk and haven’t picked a front. If this view becomes the front I will remove the lowest right branch and possibly some of the upper trunk.

The tree in early summer after the previous posting. It has always had burnt leaf tips in summer. I have always kept it in full sun. I am trying to water it more (three or four times a day in summer) and have replaced this pot with a larger one subsequent to when this picture was taken.

The base of the tree from the same view. I was considering developing it as a small tree but have since decided I would like it to be a larger tree.

Still growing in the small pot.
